Diving into warm weather head on, Mirror Twin turns to the Belgian styled witbier for a base taste and then piles on the blueberries and lemons for a fruit forward kickoff to summer.
Deep and purplish mauve, Wheat members comes with a loose and frothy cap that endures half the session. Tangy and robust fruit tease the nose as the fruits spring to life. Hints of spice and fruit esters has the wheat beer seeming like wine spriter to the nose. Medium sweetness of pastry and cobbler provide the malty backdrop for all the fruits and lays a blanket of candied grain sweetness on the front of the tongue.
The low lying acidity of the witbier teases with sour proporitons and balances the linger of malt in full anticipation of the fruits that slather the middle palate with radiant, juicy and vibrant taste of blueberries. Meanwhile the sharp sourness of lemon has a crisp and playfully acidic tone on taste and offers a drinkable and characterful charm in the beer's waning sips.
Medium bodied and battling between wheat creaminess and tart dryness, the beer eventually decides to dry and edge with tartness as those notions of wine spritzers win out over that of pastry or cobbler.
