Doing their part to flatten the curve, Mirror Twin Brewing keeps rolling out the fruity, floral and fauna fueled beers for home enjoyment. Their weekly rotation makes a stop at the style of blonde ale with strawberry and kiwi in tow.
Hazy gold and capped with a light and lathery froth, Flatten The Curve quickly graces the nose with raw fruit aroams. Berry and tropical fruit offer a rich but tangy aroma. Along with a raw grain and a floral, lightly candied scent, the taste graces the tongue with cereal sweetness, melon and a true graininess.
The fruit flavors are subdued and easy on the tastebuds. The rawness of cereal and grain underneath are slightly bready and with a whole wheat, doughy flavor. The strawberries provide a richer red berry taste that borrows character of cranberry and currant while the kiwi gives a nondescript tanginess with a succulent edge. Light in bitterness, the late palate is balanced by berry seed and fruit skin tannins as much as hops.
Medium light in body, the easy going ale finishes tangy, tart, mildly spicy and mildly bitter. A soft linger brings back the grain germ and doughy mustiness to make the beer a perfect crusher for the porch or for that first mowing session of the year.
