The refreshing character of pilsner meets the refreshing character of fruit and spice in a slightly cocktail driven take on a summertime classic.
Lightly hazy and pouring a glowing straw yellow, Mirror Twin's Slim Shandy immediately tingles the nose with an exotic perfume of ginger and lime that bounce off of the beer's frothy, partly fizzy froth. As light suggestion of light bread and dough round out the nose, the first sip reveals a slightly candied character of powered sugar, light cookie dough and agave.
Washing over the middle palate, the lager lightens considerably to a crisp and refreshing taste as the citrus additions of lemon and lime dominate the undercurrents of apple and herbal hops. Ginger spice adds intrigue as the hops take a backseat to balance. Trending herbal, fruity and bubbly, the session wraps up with a light mojito character.
Medium bodied, refreshing and off-clean in its taste and texture, the lager finishes fairly crisp with an extension of candied citrus and ginger spice.
