Beating the heat and washing away the thirst, Mirror Twin is out to show that the normal lager taste of summer doesn't have to be boring. Blackberry and thyme lock in a fruity and herbal taste that deliver the normal light lager from the banal.
Light and hazy rouge, Massive Waste Of Thyme pours with a foggy glow before capping off with a light white froth. With a fruity, grainy-sweet and herbal fragrance, the nose is gently tea-like with floral and fruity attributes. A mild-mannered sweetness greets the tongue with a first sip of wafer, honeysuckle and a cracker-like doughiness to start.
As the lager flushes the middle plate with thirst quenching tanginess, the blackberries provide a refreshing fruitiness that skirts just above the wafer-like sweetness and carries a fruitier tone throughout. A rise of hops has the session pulling away from floral flavor and into a spicy bitterness of lemongrass and peppercorn. An herbal and grassy closure gives the session a unique herbal and tea-like presence from the thyme and hops.
Light, easy drinking and characterful, the beer finishes lightly tart and with a drying, minty mouthfeel. Lightly bittered, the finish brings a nearly winey character with an aftertaste of fruited and herbal sun teas.
