16oz tallboy can received through the generosity of vurt. I think it might be my 2nd from Ruse (unless I clocked some on UnTapped at Community Pint).

Poured into a tapered 16oz Pint glass, this was a somewhat chill-hazed golden amber color, with a big, sudsy eggshell-white head.

Hoppy nose, as one would expect. Has a bit of a southern hemisphere hop aroma to it, courtesy of the Nelson hops, no doubt. Smells like tropical fruits and pine needles, very much in that order.

Fruitier and sweeter up front than innthe nose, and less piney over all. Relatively soft finish. Definitely less bitter on the back end than I expected. Goes down very easily.

Medium bodied, slightly resiny mouth feel.

Very easy drinking stuff that still delivers the goods. I think I like Ruse. Thanks, Eric!

From a can dated 2/25/26, purchased at Market of Choice in Hillsboro, OR. I've really been digging on Ruse Brewing of late. As an IPA drinker, I think they make some of the best in Portland. This one is exactly the type of West Coast IPA I like. A big blast of hops flavor on the first sip with a clean, slightly sweet finish. Very pleasant, very drinkable. The only critique is it's maybe a bit too sweet on the finish, but this is a nitpick. Another winner from Ruse. Try it if you see it.

Had this beer 6 months ago and don't remember any specifics about it other than it was good.

Pours a cloudy straw orange with a finger of rocky head that slowly settles to a thin cap with plenty of lacing. Aroma of citrus and pine. Taste follows nose.

Misc.: Canned on March 2, 2021

Headed over the Windmill Farms to see what new stuff they had and came across three new Ruse beers. Nice to see Ruse beer make its way into the San Diego market. Gave Star Senders right before a 3.97 and Similar Science a 4.07. Saw the March 2 COD, but wanted some anyway so had to have it right away. Online description was “West Coast IPA dry hopped with Simcoe, Mosaic, and Nelson hops.”

Poured a medium yellow clear color with one finger of off-white frothy head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Below average watery lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.50)

Smelled Simcoe, Mosaic, mango, papaya, pine, pineapple, onion, herbal and hints of black pepper. Much better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted Simcoe, bitter pine, black pepper, onion, herbal, mango, gooseberry, Mosaic, floral, papaya, pineapple, hints of Nelson, earthy malt and some grass. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Slightly underrated this overall. Just an outstanding West Coast IPA. (Overall - 4.00)
