Spontaneously fermented golden ale aged for under one year before the addition of fresh, whole Balaton cherries. Refermented with the fruit in barrel and subsequently macerated for a minimum of 4 months.

Pours with no head, semi clear bright cherry red color

Nose brings plenty of juicy cherries, Balaton cherries, with juice, some tart aromas like tart cherry and some acidity, a hint of farmhouse funk and cheesy funk notes, cherry candies,

Taste starts pretty sour, acetic acid bacteria funk up front, a little barnyard and farmhouse cheesy funk, then big cherry, again straight Balaton cherry and juice, but also some cherry candy and tart cherry, some vanilla oak notes, a little bready, tart flemmy acidic finish, quite sour overall too

Mouth is med bod, high acidity and fair flemmy finish, almost no carb basically flat

Overall pretty nice, I'm not always a fan of Kriek style but the cherries came out nice in this one and quite sour

Cellared 1.5 years. Liked the vanilla better, haven't tried the rum yet. Murky opaque granett with a white cap. Smells of candied cherry with oak, flowers, and cheesecloth and barnyard funk. Taste starts the same but the finish is so strong on the finish that it tastes like paper, hay is there too. Feel is out of balance with the intense dryness from the brett, upfront is very sour but not acidic, some wild funk textures abound. Wanted to like this more than I did

375 ml cork & caged bottle. Bottled on 06/29/2020.
Pours red and appears ruby in the glass. Minimal head and lacing. Aroma of cherries, hay, barnyard, and moldy cheese. My god this is dry. Tartness is moderate. I normally like my beers dry, but I don't think it works in a sour. Notes of cherries, funk, and earth. Suitable carbonation for this larger fruited sour.

On cask @ The Referend Bier Blendery in Pennington, NJ.

Deep, beautiful red color with a huge frothy pink head. This was served in a really cool tall, skinny, cylindrical glass and the head rose way above the rim of the glass. A beautifully inviting beer.

Mild earth combined with fruity berries make up the aroma and flavor. I am a cask beer lover, but in this case it gave the beer a heavy, almost syrupy feel that made it feel a little clunky. Otherwise, it's a really nice beer from this great brewery.

11 oz. pour on cask at the brewery. It pours a muddy, turbid cranberry color with a foamy pink head and a thin sheen of lacing inside the glass. On the nose there is ripe cherry, oak, and the funky smell of Brett yeast. The taste opens with dark, ripe cherry. It's certainly sour but not distractingly so. As the glass warms, the sourness fades and the sweetness of the cherry comes to the fore but it's not cloying. It's quite delicious! The feel is creamy and viscous - almost syrupy. It has very low carbonation when served on cask. The 6.9% ABV gives it nice substance. Overall, I think this is the finest Belgian Fruit Lambic I've ever tasted. It was a real treat!
