Was given a growler of this recently from a friend and got around to it tonight. I only heard of Troon in passing and this was the first beer that I had from them, but this was quite impressive in terms of of the taste and how easily it went down!
Nice pour to this as the beer was somewhat thin, golden, and had just a bit of haze to it. The head was sufficient and a few solid rings of lacing were left along the top of my pint glass. Mild grass, earthy hops, and *tons* of tropical fruit were in the nose with even more of the latter present in the taste. Incredibly juicy, this continued the wonderful legacy that Head High and Gravitational Waves have left in this state when it comes to crushable IPA's that stand out from the hazy dankness more typical of their New England counterparts. A nice amount of resin in the mouthfeel and lingering presence of mango and papaya made this an easy winner that begged for another fill from the 32 oz growler.
The alcohol was perfect as it was neither too strong nor too weak. Amazing brew from these guys that has me wondering when they'll can, or when I can get down to Hopewell Township to give them a go. Looking forward to more from these guys!
