The first glass pours transparent, amber brown, with a soapy off-white head. After that, the sediment stirs up, and every subsequent glass pours a murky brown. It’s not great looking.

Aromas of rich, boozy crème brûlée with vanilla caviar, coconut bourbon and butterscotch.

Vanilla dominates the flavor, tons of coconut caramel and booze soaked black cherries. Finishes with a bit of citrus peel, almost like drinking an Old Fashioned. The 14% is not well hidden, and absolutely clobbers you, but probably helps tamp down the sweetness a bit.

Mouthfeel lacks carbonation, but the texture of the beer is silky smooth.

Troon tends to turn their beers up to 11, and this was no exception. Massive punches of flavor, wrapped in a cohesive shell that didn’t let it stray too far outside the lines.
