Crowler canned on 5/2/22; consumed on 7/26/22
Pours an opaque, milky, glowy lemon-gold body topped with multiple fingers of dense, rock, white foam; great head retention leaves ¾ of a finger of cap, a large, frothy collar, and comprehensive spread of webby/spotty lacing spread around the walls of the glass.
Aromas of peach skins linger to distant shreds of strawberry as twangy tangerine brings quiet waves of citrus over the middle; lemon zest becomes vivid as musty grass eases through the closing impressions of the bouquet.
Taste offers passionfruit and grapefruit peel upfront, with underlying pineapple esters over the mid-palate easing to brightly expressed orange peel and raw, oily resins kingering vividly through the finish.
Mouthfeel shows a medium body and moderate carbonation; a pure silk with a pillowy, pseudo-hop acidity peaking with a juicy twang over the mid-palate; a creamy envelopment coats the back end as a sinewy grit flows toward the finish, with virtually no perceptible bitterness.
Aggressive hopping softened to velvety earthiness, with airy resins carrying vividly fresh, herbal undertones tinged with tropical citrus; contrastingly bright with musty earth and boggy zest, this proves yet another example of Troon's deft approach to an expansive resin profile.
