Since I missed last year's Baltic Porter celebration, I'm particularly lucky to have found this. And given its strength, I could have held it in a cellar for several years to come. But, I'm glad I drank it now.
Kuuvalge pours a rich, luxurious mocha foam... but then it goes away. Smells are chocolate and, then, milk chocolate and, finally, bittersweet chocolate. Tastes are largely the same, but I am impressed that the ABV doesn't get in my face. (I've been noticing how more and more micros get right this most difficult part of strong brews.) Medium-mouthed for this viscous style, but creamier.
As for the very good Overall Hugs I give to Puhaste, that's for having made it thru their first decade of being a successful business despite Covid. Puhaste seems quite accomplished, offering a portfolio of brews; but particularly difficult are these BA high ABVs in which many things can go wrong... but didn't in Kuuvalge. Tervitades (that's Cheers in Estonian.)
