dHop5 is a 8.0% DIPA that supersizes one of our favorite Equilibrium IPAs: Fractal Citra/Galaxy. We scaled Fractal’s grain bill, water treatment, fermentation, and super sized the hop bill of citra and galaxy. dHop5 pours a milky straw yellow (milk>haze) releasing aromas of passion fruit, peach, lime, and pineapple all integrated with a sorbet twist. The taste is a bright creamy tropical flavor that is dangerously drinkable and balanced.

Copenhagen 21/5 2024. 47,3 cl can from Best of Beers web-shop. What looks like a very colorful funnel on the can. The version I am drinking holds an ABV of 8,5.
Pours opaque hazy, golden yellow with a small white head. Stable. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a mild odor of sweet tropical fruit mingling with a stronger scent of zesty citrus fruit. Peach and pineapple Sweet passion fruit. Blood orange and lemon.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, slightly viscous, soft yet lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a strong citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Classic light, citric DIPA.

A: The beer is very hazy pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of lime citrus are present in the nose along with hints of pineapple.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of pineapples are a bit stronger and there are also some hints of gooseberry.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and juicy on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I particularly enjoyed the flavors of pineapples in the taste of this beer. It also drank very well considering its strength.

No can date
Pours a larger frothy thick almost 2 finger head with great retention, soapy lacing, hazy cloudy pale orange color
Nose brings loads of citrus and tropical fruit, mango, papaya, pineapple, citrus pith, light grainy creamy malt, light alcohol
Taste brings more citrus and tropical fruit, orange cream, tangerine, mango, pineapple, papaya, etc, hint of grassy green bitterness, lots of creamy flaked proteins, cereal, a little chalky mineral, light alcohol flavor, drier mild sticky finish
Mouth is med to fuller bod, creamy smooth, fair warming slight tingly alcohol
Overall not bad, a bit too boozy but hops are nice, base malt and flaked proteins are good as well as water softening minerals, etc

Golden pineapple haze with white lacing. Hoppy, tropical melon. Nice balanced tropical hoppiness with a drier finish. Medium bodied and super smooth going down, good beer.
