Collaboration with District 96 Beer Factory
D96 has a special place in our hearts. Sharing pilot batches long before we were Equilibrium, and they even tapped Equilibrium’s first commercial keg ever at their Burger Loft charity event. We’re grateful they have given us a home away from home.
When D96 first made Sexual Frustration, John brought a keg up to our line share. As Sexual Frustration is very Galaxy forward and Equilibrium’s Fluctuation is very Citra forward, we thought why not do an 8% DIPA that would be like blending the two beers. Sexual Fluctuation was born.
Sexual Fluctuation is a Citra/Galaxy blend (incorporating the latest EQ hop technology). It pours a hazy tangerine orange and releases releasing aromas of passion fruit, peach, lime, and pineapple all integrated with a juicy twist. The taste is a bright creamy tropical sorbet flavor that is dangerously drinkable and balanced with a big EQjuice finish.

L -- Immensely turbid, muted orange body with two fingers of dense white head produced with moderate pour. Some retention and great lacing
S -- Bubblegum, mango, apricot, yellow peach, pineapple, lemon sorbet, tangerine, hint of orange creamsicle
T -- Largely follows the nose. Lots of puree-like tropical fruit juice going on, with some citrus zestiness and a creamy oat-forward malt bill. Some fruity yeast esters as well
F -- Mouth-coating and fluffy. Minimal bitterness
O -- Definitely agree with the ratings average on this one: probably EQ's best hoppy offering. Just very tropical, clean, and soft
90/100
