Collaboration with Fools Gold NYC
Our head brewer Ryan McNally was at a Fools Gold event in NYC and shared a pilot batch of Kinetics (now known as Fluctuation) with Patrick Donagher. Patrick, who is a fixture in the NYC bar industry, seemed to really enjoy his first taste of Equilibrium and on that night a friendship was born. Fools Equipoise is true to the name with a blend of both new school and old school hops in search of balanced interests, and a beer so drinkable it may leave some fools unbalanced. It pours hazy with an aroma of pine and fruit cocktail. The flavor is tropical, with notes of ripe peach, papaya, mango and has a new school EQ juiciness that builds before its dry but soft and creamy finish.

Pours cloudy orange gold color with a 2-3 finger foamy white head that faded slowly and left nice foamy rings as it went down with spotty lacing in between.
Smells of tangerine, orange peel, lemon zest, light grapefruit, rose pedals, melon, floral notes like fresh cut flowers, honey, candied sugar and hints of grains or malt. Nose was weaker than expected for an 8% ABV DIPA, it was soft and more floral rather than hoppy with aggressive citrus aromas.
Tastes sweeter than it smells with rose pedals, caramel, light brown sugar and/or coriander, then some biscuit or cracked wheat to go along with the tangerine, orange peel, grapefruit, lemon, tropical fruit, floral notes like fresh cut flowers, honey, lime, candied sugar, fruity candy and toasted grains. Better balance in the flavor, but still not as strong as expected.
Mouthfeel is smooth and almost slick with mild/light carbonation, an average body, an average bitterness level and then a semi-dry finish that's sweet with floral notes which is hoppy with citrus flavors. A good beer that just didn't get me excited.

Great lookin NEIPA EQ pour, lovely fine lacing left on the glass.
Rich and luscious ripe pineapple nose.
Soft, smooth, ripe citrus, with pineapple, oranges, melon....delicious. Fine creation in brewing...hopefully they will make more of this one cuz its that damn good
