Somehow forgot to rate this a few weeks back. This was the first beer I had from Equilibrium and I have been enjoying a lot of their lineup ever since.

really good ipa here, but for me anyway not one of the most compelling equilibrium beers i have had, its messy, so hazy its thick, and so overhopped it has this almost chemical bite to it, some out there may like that, have gotten used to it, and come to expect it in these style, but to me its a bit overcooked in that sense, although i still really dig the hop profile. citra to the dome in the nose, oily and heavier and more snarly and intense than it usually is, a little more balanced out by the other hops in the flavor. big starchy thick but smooth grain body but just a bland cereal complexion for malt flavor in this. the hops are so green and vegetal at the end, like its almost too new, green still, and relatively bitter, even harsh from being overdone, not traits i am used to from these varietals. still, there is an amazing pineapple, lemon, and juicy melon profile to the hops overall, and it suckers me in of course. awesome freshness, nice and dry, slick and oily though too, and carbonated well enough for it to not feel to dense. a few tweaks away from being brilliant, but really solid brew again from equilibrium, these guys have it figured out!

Hazy orange, almost murky look to it poured into tulip from 16 oz can. Good amount of thick foam head leads to heavy lace on glass. Citrus - oranges, lemons and pine lead the way on the nose. Taste those same citrus notes but there is a distinct tartness to it as well that outdoes the sweetness. Bitterness is there but for me, it's hard to cut through the tart flavor. Great creamy feel with nice carbonation. Solid beer overall, better balance would make it outstanding.

Orange brew with a tall, thick, off white head. The sticky head blankets the glass with lacing. The aroma is piney orange juice with some caramel/honey sweetness. The taste is tons of fruit like oranges, peaches and apricots. Nice sweetness that reminds me of honey. Great piney, bitter finish. Smooth, creamy and a great carbonation. This is a pretty exceptional beer.

Pours a murky orange with brown hues, a quarter inch white settles to a ring fairly quickly and leaves ample patchy lacing. Smells of citrus and tropical fruits, but rather mild. Tastes of pink grapefruit, a hint of rind, orange, peach, mango and a sweet malt presence on the back end. Medium bodied for the style, the 8.2% ABV is quite well hidden, creamy mouth feel with mild bitterness and a dry finish.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Equilibrium Brewery, Middletown, NY
7/13/18
Served in a teku

Fantastic appearance. The cloudy, yellow ochre body was topped by a tight, frothy, inch-tall, off-white crown that slowly fell to a thick, resilient collar. Large swaths of streaky, drippy lacing cascaded down the sides of the glass and lasted until almost the drink’s end.

The nose was really fruity and pleasant but a bit nondescript. Citrus notes came through strongest. Nice juicy orange presence. Subtle peach and mango notes were apparent as well. Moderately sweet. As the beer warmed, the fruity sweetness intensified, as did the peach.

The flavor was far more pithy, dry and bitter than I anticipated. Bit of citrus on the front end before an astringent, hoppy bitterness took over. White grapefruit notes dominated. Lots of pithy grapefruit rind too. The beer was tart, wheaty and lemony in the center. Clementine was also noticeable. More white grapefruit on the back end. Dry, bitter, grapefruit rind-like notes appeared in the finish. Some resiny pine sap lingered after the swallow.

Nice creamy mouthfeel. Fluffy and soft on the palate. Lighter bodied for the style. The liquid contained a fine, moderate effervescence.

Equilibrium Brewing’s dHop12 has a solid aroma and mouthfeel, but its flavor profile was far too pithy and bitter for my palate. This beer could definitely use more balance.

gloriously hazy golden-tangerine hued DIPA. Citra and Amarillo give this some nice citrus vibes with some soft tropical tones in the background and some sticky resin to round it out. 8.2% is well hidden. Feel is soft and smooth. Not as much juicy hop intensity as the other DIPAs I’ve had from—a bit lacking in the flavor department, but a good beer nonetheless
