Drank from a 375ml (12.68fl.oz.) bottle purchased at Fenway Beer Shop, Boston, MA
Bottled On: 9/10/2020
Served in a tulip
The beer poured a clear and thinner bodied, inky crimson hue that looked very similar to a Syrah. A fizzy, near finger-tall, light magenta crown topped the liquid and quickly dropped to a thin ringlet. No lacing whatsoever.
The nose was quite sour and rather berry forward. Loads of acetic acid. Red wine and red wine vinegar came through strong. Good dose of oaky barrel. Tart blackberries and currant notes were also quite apparent. Perhaps a touch of raspberry as well.
The flavor profile was similar to the nose but more tart and one dimensional. Big red wine vinegar presence from start to finish. Moderately oaky and tannic. The berry notes were again present here but definitely seemed more subtle. Underripe blackberries and raspberries came to mind. Lemon notes appeared in the center. Fairly sour and acidic. More red wine vinegar and berries on the back end and the finish. Some dry oaky tannins and acidity lingered after the swallow.
Nice fluffy, lighter bodied mouthfeel. Soft and smooth on the palate. The liquid contained a fine, fairly zippy effervescence that worked nicely for the style.
Equilibrium’s Here and Now is a fairly sour wild ale with punchy berry notes and a bracing acidity. While I enjoyed this beer, I would have preferred if it displayed either more sweetness or more funk.

wow this was phenomenal - it pours out this vibrant plum/violet color with a beautiful pinkish head of dense and creamy consistency. aromas of tart seedy berries, sweet smoothie and mellow yogurt qualities balancing perfectly. palate takes this to the next level, there is such a complex blackberry note - getting that sweet ripe quality as well as more tart notes. seedy berry melange, boysenberry pie, smoothie status with the perfect amount of tart and super mellow qualities to balance. just amazing!
