Relative rates it’s a continuation of our dC/dt line of beers, which explores how something changes relative to the rate of change of something else with goal to understand and tune the process that give rise to our EQ juice.
Relative Rates uses a blend of modern hops and pours a hazy bright yellow. We get whiffs of tropical fruit, citrus, sweet tangerine and weed on nose. It’s flavor is tropical fruit, big citrus, plenty of melon with and undercurrent of faint strawberry. The finish is resinous but starts off soft before the juicy undertones take the lead. Think warm breeze, bright sun and beach drinks made of OJ, Melon and Berry with our signature #EQJuice profile.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy goldenstraw with a three finger head; excellent retention with clumps of lacing left behind
Smell: Pithy and resinous with undertones of melon and tropical fruit; white grapefruit and a hint of tangerine
Taste: Honeydew melon dominates the forefront with tangerine and tropical fruit tones emerging; very resinous, after the swallow, with plenty of white grapefruit pith leading into the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body; somewhat creamy with moderate to high carbonation
Overall: The combination of the melon and the resin makes this a rather unusual DIPA; certainly worthy

Copenhagen 4/5 2024. 47,3 cl can from Best of Beers web-shop. What looks like a infrared photo of dancing people on the can.
Pours unclear golden yellow with a big white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as 0,3 cm thick, uneven, lumpy layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Clinging the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with sweet odor of ripe tropical fruits mingling with a subtle scent of citrus fruit. Mango and pineapple. Lemon and lime. Resin.
Low carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Pleasant and not too heavy DIPA.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy, medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and dank hops, orange, lemon, mixed tropical fruit, cantaloupe and berries. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops, grapefruit, orange, lemon, green melon, and vague mixed tropical fruit with a touch of dankness. Finishes with alternate waves of soft hops and somewhat resinous bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. More citrusy and melony than many of the hazy IPAs I've tried, but still solidly in the NE tradition. Fortunately for my palette, a decent amount of bitterness kept this fresh tasting without descending into old fruit juice territory. Actually the bitterness had an interesting roller coaster effect, good alpha oil at the start, then a rather soft, typical hazy middle with more fruit juice into a soft finish, but with developing, lingering citrus and lightly piney bitterness, which I enjoyed. This is a hazy I can live with. Well made and interesting.
