Triple NEIPA brewed with lactose. Middletown Waves (10% ABV) takes one of our favorite triples, Straight out of Middletown, and adds a balanced amount of lactose and a heavy dose of oats, showcasing an even thicker and creamier finish. With the mosaic and citra hop bill still being the star of the show, it pours a very murky tangerine color and releases aromas of fresh squeezed orange juice and earthy grass. The taste is resinous dank-citrus, light pine and orange push-pops. It has a rounded bitterness and a chewy but creamy mouth feel. The #EQjuice finish is very prominent and this beer drinks like a juicy orange-creamsicle. Think dHop 2 supersized with a luscious orange sherbet finish.

Canned 7/10/23
I haven’t had anything from Equilibrium in a minute (or really much at all) but they do make some damn solid NEIPAs. I’m sure this one will be just as good. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a hazy yellow gold with 2 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose is a bit bland, but perhaps that’s a function of its age. I’m picking up on aromas of orange juice, pineapple juice, grassy hops, dank weed, blueberry, mango skin, and white pepper
It’s even more bland in taste unfortunately but I still dig it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting mango skin, blueberry, orange juice, bready malt, and light grassy hops. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, pineapple juice, mango skin, grassy hops, bready malt, and light weed
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes neutral but refreshing
It’s definitely past its prime, but still a good beer nonetheless

On tap was amazing. Like a melon push pop, so thick and creamy. Definitely a sipper! Canned wasn’t so great.

No canning date, tasted 1/27/21. A good TIPA from Equilibrium! Rich and creamy and full of flavor. Juicy and dank, a touch on the sweeter side, but still with a good amount of hoppy bitterness. Like many TIPAs, it's on the heavier side, but hides the 10% ABV very smoothly. Not an everyday beer, but a very enjoyable one.

Hazy orange-yellow with a foamy eggshell head leaving some spotty lace.
Catty and ruggy while simultaneously sharp and fusel, with crisp notes of grapefruit far in the background.
All the wrong notes.

Nice bright big hazy orange in the glass, minimal head. Tart passionfruit, pineapple, huge citrus, creamy, smooth, nice dank piney backbone, some nice malt coming through, a bit thin and insubstantial, really hides the 10% nicely, niceTriple IPA.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released locally. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense/creamy/rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, lactose, and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, lactose, and bready malt flavors; with a solid malt/lactose/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, lightly sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 10%. Overall this is an amazing milkshake NEDIPA! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, lactose, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish; amazingly soft feel. Feels like Galaxy, Citra. Extremely juicy and lightly dank/earthy hops; with a perfectly balanced lactose, and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly amazing offering, and top tier style example.

The beer pours a nice and white creamy head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a good looking and cloudy bright yellow color that looks really cheerful.
The smell is good. It has a good orange note and light pineapple with a bit of creaminess to it. There is a slight booze note at the finish.
The taste is pretty good with a good sweet nectarine and light citrus note with a oat finish to it. There is also a light pineapple to it.
The feel is heavy bodied but the texture is a bit thin for my tastes and the style.
Overall. a fairly decent TIPA that's best super fresh and cool.
