A triple IPA with blueberries made by a collaboration of Equilibrium and Evil Twin. On paper this sounds like it should be really interesting and quite tasty, but the reality was that it tasted rather odd.
It starts off pouring dark hot pink/fuchsia color with a pink foamy head that was full of bubbles of all sizes, fading on the quicker side and leaving minimal spotty lacing. It smelled of wheat, biscuit, orange peel, blueberries, raspberries and grains and/or earthy notes. I expected a juicy hop nose with fruity accents from the blueberries, but this was more like a wheat beer aroma. Puzzling.
The flavor starts off with some classic Equilibrium hop character but then deviates and gets fruity strawberry and blueberry miking with toasted grains, biscuit, tea leaf, yeast or dry malts, dry floral hops and tart berries. It's not like a sour IPA and not really like a regular IPA, it's like the fruit soured in the mash and left a mix of earthy aspects that cancelled out all the hops.
Mouthfeel is medium to thin with mild carbonation, a smooth feel as it slides down and some tart aspects. This combo of fruit and malt/yeast/wheat hides the ABV but doesn't make up for the odd nose and flavor. Overall it was a bit of a disappointment as these are 2 great brewers, but this one didn't do it for me.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a teku glass.
Pours a subtly hazy fuschia color with a finger of effervescent pink head. The head leaves a few spots of lacing before settling into a thin sheet.
The aroma brings notes of blueberries and strawberries, as well as some orange marmalade and pineapple. There's a fair bit of biscuity malt on the back.
The flavor is a veritable fruit cocktail: Oranges, honeydew melon, pineapple, and blueberries, with some sweet cream and biscuity malts. Some dank hoppiness comes through on the finish.
The feel is medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Relatively soft and creamy with a modestly dry finish. Alcohol is exceptionally well-hidden.
Overall, a great beer that by description alone, sounds like a beer I'd hate. But I don't. It's fruity, it's flavorful, but it also drinks incredibly easily for 11%.
