This example was the 2020 version released September 2020. Served at 55 degrees
Look- Beer poured out wet hay yellow. A bright white pillow like head with, very small tight compacted bubbles formed off the pour. The head dissipated relatively quickly. The beer had almost no glass lacing.
Smell- The smell is very chardonnay forward. Big white grape, green apple, and pear. It slight sour note also came off the nose.
Taste- The flavor profile was on point. Big apple, and pear upfront. This beer had more acidity than it did sweetness. There are hints of lemon peel on the back end. The white grape as well was very prevalent and heavy on the back end of the pallet.
Feel- Mouth drying but super soft. The beer as it warmed became very, very acidic. The mouthfeel right out of the fridge was quite soft though.
Overall- The Unlikely series from Equilibrium has slowly become one of my favorite things they do. This one is an amazing example of their wild ale barrel program. I truly loved this beer. I am very excited to see what some time in the cellar does to this beer.
