Collaboration with Civil Society Brewing
While we were discussing our love of New Zealand Hops, we took some tips from our friends from Florida on how to stay cool in this heat.
Seven Izzup was conceptualized when we decided to try to brew one of our most refreshing DIPA’s yet. We used a large percentage wheat grain bill, Motueka and Citra in the whirlpool and then dry hopped it with additional Motueka and added Wakatu. If that wasn’t enough, we conditioned it on fresh lemon and lime zest to finish it off. Crack a can open and you’ll instantly grab a hoppy bursts with a touch of lemon and lime. The flavor is crisp and matches the aroma with a bright and spritzy assortment of citrus, lime, and earth while the pillowy mouthfeel makes this a total crusher. The #EQjuice finish is extremely bright and refreshing. Nothing does it like Seven Izzup, a real thirst quencher.

Blanketing lace from a sizeable head. The liquid has a white hazy/cloud in the pale, near yellow color.
Well balanced aroma with a solid paler malt base with an initially lighter hop spice. Later whiffs bring out a dry prickliness.
The flavor continues the smell pattern with a decent starting malt that becomes mildly bitter. The body and carbonation are predictable, well, maybe the carbonation is a bit high. I also note a faint alcohol background.

Into a pils glass, no packaging date. Looks great, nice pale orange, tons of rocky foam. Aroma hits you from a mile away with unidentified citrus and a LOT of lemon lime soda and a little grapefruit.
Flavor is a little underwhelming but still quite good. It's a bomb of lime flavor and overripe mango with some white wine notes. Significantly more bitter than the nose which I didn't expect. Finishes dry and dank. Mouthfeel is good, incredibly smooth and creamy but not too coating.
I think this one would've impressed me more if I had a fresher can but interesting and fun. The lime zest added really makes this one and showcases a different side of NZ hops with more bitter and skunky flavors.

I got a 16oz can of this beer from my local beer store located just around the corner. It poured a hazy golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had dank mango and apricot notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright sweet malt base with bitter mango, guava, and stone fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Man I don't know why the low reviews are prevalent: perhaps they were still tweaking the recipe last year. From someone in the South who only gets to enjoy truly excellent NEIPA when he travels North, man this is a GREAT beer. While I close my eyes and sip this couldn't be a top TH or HF (their unique and one-of-a-kind) this needs to definitely be a best of the rest. beer. I'd gladly have this in a mix 6 that includes Foam, River Roost, Fox Farm, Austin St etc...
Pale Straw Piss (not a negative) Yellow
Lime Zest, Lemon, Pineapple nose
Taste Follows with a smash of mango meets salted cantaloupe(yummy!) VERY SPOT ON for TH Hurricane. (Blind not sure who comes out on top)
Finishes with a mélange of fruit and siren calls me back for more.
Honestly one of THE BEST IIPAs I've been able to purchase within my home market in a very long time. I want access to this EVERY MONTH!!!!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
