As hoppy beer continue to get smoother and fruitier, it has dawned on me that after nearly a quarter of a century profiling beer flavors that I no longer know the difference between IPA and hefeweizen. And the skills that allow Equilibrium Brewery to make a multitude of developments in hoppy beer, they have miraculously turned an Imperial IPA into a Wheatwine.
Deeply opaque and pouring with a matte burnt orange appearance, Infinite Skills Create Miracles forms a creamy ivory-stained lather on the brim. As an extraordinary perfume of stone fruit, orchard fruit and tropical fruit align on the nose, so do a rife breadiness that's redolent with sourdough and poundcake. Its those later attributes to carry over to a bready-sweet taste that hinges on cereal, honey, biscuit and tapioca.
As the hops and fruit esters intertwine on the tongue, they rise to rival the intensity of malted grains and provide strong impressions of guava, papaya, pawpaw, mango, apricot, dates, bruised oranges and light raisin. As an herbal array pulls from the fruity flavors, they transition from fruit peels to fruit leaf and then to a collection of gin-like botanicals, equipped with juniper, cedar, tea and hemp.
Full bodied and finishing malt-dry, the balance of flavors never prefer the hops squarely over that of malt, allowing a bready sweetness to persist. These hinder drinkability but work to foster its flavor intensity. A finish of curacao liquor and liquor soaked pound cake leads to a medium long afterglow of muddled fruit peels and tea once more.

A- 16oz can pours into a becher glass with a fairly cloudy pale yellow-golden body. The cap ascends to a centimeter high with a foamy-frothy texture and good retention. Thin blankets of lacing stretch across much of the glass.
S- Orange juice, citrus and tropical hops come to mind for the most part in a hop dominated aroma. Orange juice highlights things with grapefruit, papaya, peach, tangerine and melon. Fruity and juicy hops, really.
T- Wow, the aroma translates on the palate with flawless execution bringing all of the juicy, fruity hop notes to the taste buds in a delicious explosion. The sweet nectar of melon, peaches, papaya and mango open things up with orange juice, guava, tangerine and pineapple. Melon bomb reminding me of the glory days of Peudo Sue and Tree House Green. Fairly sweet but at a level that suits the juicy and fruity hops.
MF- Creamy and puffy medium bodied brew with a fairly high level of carbonation. The beer is quite smooth but not quite at the level of some other IPAs these days. Some ABV warmth but hard to believe this one is really 10%, scary.
These peeps happen to have any brews that run around the 5-7.5% ABV range because this is one of the best IPAs I have had in recent months. Clean as can be hop profile with no burn or acrid bitterness and juicy melon, guava, orange juice fruity hop bliss.
