Fractal Strata investigates the interplay between Strata and our revised hopping processes. A fractal is something simple at the core yet can produce wonderful and amazingly complex results. We use these beers to investigate how different hops manifest through our processes, allowing us to optimize both our use of hops and our hopping techniques.
Fractal Strata pours a hazy yellow releasing complex aromas of both tropical and dank passionfruit, mango and melon with a whiff of sticky green. The taste follows the aroma with a resinous creamy mouthfeel and a firm but rounded bitterness.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, caramel and resin. Sweet fruity taste with toasted caramel and a piney bite.

Look: Hazy yellow and gold with a classic NE style white frothy and creamy foam cap, practically full cover after dissipation and big lace.
Nose: Spicy passion fruit, creamy lemon drop strata hops and husky malted golden grains.
Feel & Flavor: Creamy and round edges with a sharp, dry earthy kick in the middle, tows the line of crisp and peppery but wildly smooth and silky.
Earthy spice within passion fruit and tangy citrus orange peel hops. Herbal spice blend with sweet, red fruits flavors throughout. Husky and earthy golden malt makes it the right sorta balance for the New England style.
Overall: very unique hop flavors with some very bold and brash aspects like "spicy fruits" Malt is super fluffy and earthy tones, the 6.8 % abv is a nice place to be as well, holds good complexity without being to heavy.

I loved the initial smell of this beer, very nice floral smell. Very light beer when cold, becomes more complex and fruity as it warms a bit. Nice head and hazy color. I've had one other in this series and enjoyed that as well.

can to tulip glass. canned 08/12/2020.
LOOK: dark yellow, almost greenish/brownish. mildly hazy, medium off white head. very good retention. a little ugly looking in color, but otherwise nice.
AROMA: pear, floral, metallic, pastry.
TASTE; tangerine, floral, melon, metallic, veggie,
FEEL; thin and watery, light bodied.
Interesting. Not spectacular, but some different tasting note combinations. Would be interesting to try other single hop beers in this series.

A: Pours a hazy yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a nice cap that leaves good lacing
S: Tropical fruit up front along with some lighter citrus and herbal/dank notes. Mostly passion fruit and pineapple
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the tropical fruit and then picks up some citrus and lighter dank notes. Moderately bitter. Finishes with lingering pineapple and passion fruit
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O: A solid IPA that does a great job highlighting the strata hops. Super easy to drink. Worth checking out

Pours a hazy, almost murky dull orange with a tinge of brown and finger of white head. Aroma is dank with overripe tropical fruits and a berry note. Taste is dominated by the overripe tropical fruits, there are fingers of red berry and dank notes as well. Medium bodied at first then a big thinner and more aqueous in the finish, medium carbonation. Overall a decent beer but it doesn’t live up to my expectations of an Equilibrium brew.
