We took Particle Physics, our Citra based American Pale Ale and added Strata to give this spin off an even more aggressive and fruity dimension.

Sparticle Physics pours hazy orange and has aromas and flavors of cannabis from the battle fields of Sparta, tropical citrus, nectarine, and pineapple. Featuring a pillowy mouthfeel and a hole-kicking finish, this delicate and juicy crusher is welcomed by all warriors alike.

08/05/22 stamped on far upper right of label. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.

A: Hazy light gold with 3-4 finger big-bubbled white frothy head with long retention and sticky audacious lacing.

S: Strong citrus hoppiness with white grapefruit, orange, and lemon with a bit of overripe fruit with vigorous swirling. Retronasal is more of the grapefruit pith. Esters are mildly fruity.

T: Flavor is also strong citrus but with more bitterness and pithiness on the finish with a lot of orange, lemon, and white grapefruit. Bitterness is at least medium and increased by the pith character. Malt is in the background and provides a touch of breadiness noticeable in the aftertaste along with strong grapefruit pith. Esters are not as obvious but provide some floral and citrus blossom in the aftertaste. Alcohol is hidden well.

M: Feel is medium bodied and highly carbonated. It’s not astringent on the finish, but the pithy nature of the aftertaste is strong.

O: Sparticle Physics is a good example of how NE pale ales are really tough to get right — they do not have the same leeway in hopping because of a lighter malt component and it can slide into the overhopped, pithy bitterness which is not really part of the NE style, regardless of pale ale, NEIPA, or higher gravity versions.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 12/21/20, so 4 months old.

Looks splendid in the glass. Hazy yellow/orange body with a massive billowing white head. Leaves excellent lacing.

Smooth mellow fruit aromas.

On tasting, slightly bitter, quite hoppy, mostly fruit.

Mouth between medium and full, finish a soft pillowy slightly fruity mass.

Overall, despite being 4 months old, a pretty good NE style pale ale.

Very average. Not an equilibrium beer and not worth drinking again!

A: Pours a hazy almost milky pale to medium yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate very pale golden yellow + bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a medium to large sized patch of thick film covering a little more than 40% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of juicy citrus/grapefruit + gooseberry + tropical/lychee hops along with light aromas of dank resinous hops. There are light to moderate aromas of biscuit + pale malts with light amounts of sugary sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + pale malts with light amounts of sugary sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of juicy citrus/grapefruit + gooseberry + tropical/lychee hops along with light flavors of dank resinous hops which impart a very light amount of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving moderate lingering juicy citrus + dank hop flavors.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light to moderate amounts of soft/fluffiness mid-body with a light amount of dryness in the finish. Slightly thin/watery.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Very nice hop flavors and aromas - I would describe this one as a NEAPA.

Very smooth drinkable mid ABV offering from Equlibrium. I’ll definitely be putting this in my rotation when available.

Canned 12/3/20, tasted 2/8/21. A very yummy pale ale. If you're looking for a light, refreshing beer with a lot of juicy flavor, look no further! The color matches the can art nicely. The aroma's a touch sour, but still nicely juicy. For a lighter beer, has a good amount of flavor, and the tart juiciness really whets your appetite for the next swig. Mouthfeel was also excellent for a pale ale, although not as rich and creamy as some IPAs and DIPAs. Excellent overall for the style!
