“ You know what would be fun? C Lime Pie!” That was the text we got from our Henry Street Head Brewer, OG Kyle, recently and we went with it. C Lime Pie is our pale ale, C, dry hopped with 2020 Motueka and then pastrified into the classic dessert, Key Lime Pie. Starting off with our pale ale we added Cake Mix, Lime, Vanilla, and Lactose.
C Lime Pie pours a vibrant yellow with notes of lime and fluffy cake. The flavors is a mix of fruity hops, vanilla, yellow cake, and a refreshing lime finish all wrapped up in a very creamy but light body that you won’t feel guilty about. This beer is fun and crushable at 4.8 %. C if you can have just have one, bet you cant!

Hazy lemon-straw colored. Minimal head. Could pass for squeezed lime juice.
Might this qualify as a pastry pale ale?
Bowling alley birthday cake, thick vanilla buttercream, funfetti sprinkles. Definitely more cake like than pie aroma. Why use cake mix when Graham crackers would have been style appropriate for pie. Lime smells candied instead of fresh squeezed. Freeze dried apples, pears. Fresh picked herbs, it has a floral greenness. Overall, aroma seems artificially sweet.
Rebounds flavorwise somewhat with stronger tartness from limes, but still a lot of sweetness. Pear-guava angel food cake, lemon Krusteaz bars, basil chiffonade. Cake dough gives it balance for a pale; but still, more like a pastry less like a pie too sweet, and it lacks the tart citric snap.
Light body, med-full feel, marshmallow fluffiness, and surprising amount of cloy
