The next beer in both our Project Elevate and Super Fractal Series is here. Planets assemble around stars, stars group together into galaxies, galaxies assemble into clusters, and clusters to form large-scale superclusters. As Astronomers study the cosmos on ever expanding scales, they have been surprised to find repeating fractal like structure. At part of this scale, The Milky Way is the galaxy that contains our Solar System, with the name describing the galaxy's appearance from Earth: a hazy band of light seen in the night sky formed from stars. The label image, which was shot locally, graces the can of the latest Super Fractal Set.
Super Fractal Cosmos Set starts off with our Super Fractal base and fermentation process before an ALL GALAXY hop bill, a first for the Super Fractal Series. Pouring hazy tangerine, you’ll notice an aroma and flavor profile of a pineapple-mango smoothie, starfruit, passionfruit, papaya, and juicy stone fruit wrapped in a grassy dank finish. The mouthfeel is fluffy and creamy with a buildup of our #EQjuice right at the end of your sip. The beer is best enjoyed on cool nights outdoors looking up.

Not quite sure how this isn't considered world class. Pours a super bright and hazy yellow-orange. Think creamy head. Moderate lacing. Aroma is all sorts of candied mangoes, orange, pineapple, grapefruit, pine, diesel. Taste is huge candied tropical fruits and citrus. Slightly spicy finish. Soft feel. Medium carbonation. Sweet finish with rounding bitterness to keep it as balanced as it can be for a triple IPA. Overall, I've had my share of Equilibrium beers, but this is by far the best I've had to date.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Downtown Wine & Spirits, Somerville, MA

Gorgeous appearance. The cloudy, golden yellow body was capped by a frothy, finger-tall, bright white crown that slowly dropped to a clingy, lasting collar. Large patches of drippy lacing coated the glass.
The nose was super hoppy and really interesting. White wine notes dominated. A sweet Riesling definitely came to mind. Slightly musty. Loads of ripe mango. Mango smoothie perhaps. Good amount of peach as well. Quite sweet overall. Citrus notes were also apparent. Juicy orange and tangerine flesh specifically.
The flavor profile was uber hoppy and very similar to the aroma. There was an intense Riesling character here as well. Sweet and also somewhat musty. Quite malty and rich, even for the style. Loads of ripe mango and papaya in the center. Nice wildflower honey notes too. Fresh peach was also noticeable. White grapefruit appeared as the beer moved along the palate. The beer finished with subtle pithy, bitter grapefruit rind-like notes.
Excellent fluffy, fuller bodied mouthfeel. Creamy, slick and smooth on the palate. The liquid contained a fine, fairly zippy effervescence that gave the liquid a terrific rich frothiness.
Like the other Equilibrium double and triple IPAs I have tried recently, this one was quite sweet but also super fruity and complex. The galaxy hops lent the beer a really interesting white wine-like quality that definitely reminded me of a sweet Riesling. While these beers may not be the cleanest examples of their respective styles, they are all quite tasty and very distinct.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a yellowish / orange color and an extremely cloudy consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.
S: A very good aroma of tropical fruit, hops, citrus fruit, hops, and malt.
T: Tasted of a good amount of citrus fruit (tangerine, in particular), a moderate shot of hops (not overdone, but just enough), a decent bit of tropical fruit (pineapple and mango, especially), and malt (mostly in the finish, not a big factor). This is a generally focused, easy to like flavor. Not overly sweet or bitter, but well-balanced.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: On the whole, a solidly done DIPA. Worth a look.

Really weird one here. Smells and tastes like rotten fruit. Like straight up overripe in the sun, went bad, and now have that composty smell to them. Feel is fine, has that usual EQ softness. No clue what is going on here. Also it's unnecessarily sweet
