Back in the summer of 2019, we brewed Ouroboros with our friends at Carton Brewing. When Augie and his crew came to visit EQ this summer it seemed only fitting to continue with this cyclic theme during this complex year and brew a beer that means: “renew, renovate, replenish, revive, refresh, and regrowth as part of a cycle”.
Ananeòno uses a Blended malt bill of white wheat, flaked oats, oat malt, with a touch honey malt and an all New Zealand hopbill of Riwaka, Nelson, Motueka, Moutere, Waimea, and a hop under its new name: Nectaron.
Ananeòno pours sunlight-through-kiwi-fog with a very thick and stable head releasing notes of berry, white wine grape, cantaloupe, followed by the Riwaka complexity of passionfruit and slight hint of bright white pepper. The flavor follows the smell with citrus, and bright grassy creamy melon evolving throughout the sip. This beer has a strong metamorphosis as it warms and breaths so we suggest pouring it cold, sipping it slowly, and enjoying its evolution while taking a moment to refresh, revive, and replenish.

Look: Completely opaque, creamy light orange. A finger and a half of bubbly white head with long retention.
Smell: Strong, sweet and sour fruit. Citrus, kiwi, grapefruit, grapes.
Taste: Much milder than the scent. Melon is the dominant flavor, with a bit of grapefruit. Mildly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Chewy and smooth, with mild carbonation.
Overall: A good IPA, though I wish the flavor was as strong as the nose suggested.

Pours a hazy apricot color descent thumb sized cream colored head even from a bar pour, falls slowly with ruined lace.
Aroma is nice loads of melon, tropical fruits dominate the nose smooth and mellow almost relaxing smelling. Not overly hoppy smelling but shows up in the flavor.
Taste is like the nice loads of tropical fruits, melon is there but not as big as the nose. Big chewy fruit IPA with a good hop kick which is lacking in some. Fruity and herbal notes in the bitterness that comes in and rides the carbonation.
Mouthfeel is good big medium carbonation just lightly peppy in the finish.
Overall I like it nice and fruity lots of melon notes but good hoppy notes.
