Brewed at Equilibrium Brewing in Middletown, NY.
This is our first collaboration with our friends from Spyglass Brewing Company. Harmonic Wavelengths represents people living in harmony with each other. Both sides living together peacefully rather than fighting or arguing and instead focus on finding solutions. Based off a scaled-up version of Wavelength, we used a base of oats and wheat for a creamy and velvety smooth beer before a whirlpool of Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe. We then dry hopped the beer with Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Galaxy.
Harmonic Wavelengths pours bright yellow and has aroma and flavors of citrus, papaya, and pineapple with some apricot flesh, dank berries and smarties candy. With a soft and crushable mouthfeel, our #EQjuice finish sneaks up with a pop of flavors that that will have your taste buds in a harmonic happiness… Lets all get on the same wavelength…

Very pronounced and well- blended fruit taste and aroma. Lots of melon and citrus. The head wasn’t very tall-about 2F- I expected a taller pour. Otherwise an excellent DIPA. Also recommended: Enso- which has a more balanced taste, this beer has a greater diversity of flavor.

Served in a tulip
Outstanding appearance. The hazy, yellow ochre body was topped by a creamy, fluffy, two-finger tall, off-white crown that slowly fell to a thick cap. As the head receded, drippy patches of lacing coated the glass and stuck until the beer was finished.
Impressive aroma. Really hoppy and fruit forward. Peach and mango came through strongest. Sweet but not excessively so. Some dankness appeared as the beer sat. Nice dose of citrus as well. The citrus soon took over, but the peach and mango fought for dominance later.
The flavor profile was super citrusy. Loads of juicy orange and tangerine notes. Quite sweet overall. There was a bit of a creamy vanilla or lactose-like thing going on here too. Touch of honeydew melon in the center. More citrus and citrus peel on the back end and the finish. Hint of lingering, pithy rind-like bitterness after the swallow. Toward the drink’s end, peach and mango notes came forth.
Nice creamy, slick mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. The liquid contained a fine, subtle effervescence that came across as a bit too understated.
Harmonic Wavelengths may not be particularly notable or unique, but it is a solidly crafted hazy DIPA that satisfied my hop craving. I never heard of Spyglass Brewing (the collaborating brewery) until now, but I will definitely keep them on my radar.
