We have a new Fractal in the series today, and it’s a fun one. Fractal Sultana/Sabro investigates our newest hop combination. This simple but complex beer pours a bright straw yellow with aromas of chunked pineapple, coconut flakes, tangerine wedges, and honey dew melon blended in a glass rimmed with lemon zest. These notes come together with an earthy pine backbone and a creamy and balanced finish leading you right into the next sip.

A: Pours a milky murky pale yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and a moderate amount of pale golden yellow + bright yellow + straw yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a medium sized patch of thick film covering a little more than 35% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/pineapple + honeydew melon + citrus/tangerine + coconut + pine/resin hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + oat malts with a light to moderate amount of sugary sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + oat malts with a light to moderate amount of sugary sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy tropical/pineapple + honeydew melon + citrus/tangerine + coconut + pine/resin hops which impart a light amount of bitterness that fades away quickly leaving moderate lingering pineapple + coconut + citrus hop flavors.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly stronger than moderate amounts of creamy soft/fluffiness mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasantly creamy soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable with very nice tropical + citrus + coconut + pine hop flavors and aromas. Very nice use of Sabro - good coconut presence without the suntan lotion aspects.

Undated (WTF) can into pint glass. Pours a murky pale gold with a nice off-white head; great lacing. Initial impression is citrus, tropical fruits, pine resin, and a touch of caramel. Mouthfeel is almost but not quite juicy. Finish is fairly dry and clean, with more citrus. Overall, enjoyable but not remarkable. Very drinkable, though.
Wish I knew how old this can was - maybe it's better fresh. Maybe this IS fresh. I wish they'd date their cans.....

Pours a bright turbid orange with ample head. Smells like raw juice with alcohol, the mentioned pineapple is evident. The taste is juicy, hoppy, pineapple, herbal, citrus, coconut, a lot of stuff going on here. Very tasty, and it’s going down faaaast!
