Collaboration with Aslin Beer Company
Alfajores are popular South American dessert typically made with soft cookies pressed together with a sweet gooey filling in the middle. To emulate this classic, we conditioned a big base stout on Honey, Almonds, Hazelnuts, Coconut, and Madagascar Vanilla. Alfajores pours pitch black with a frothy tan head. Decadent notes and flavors of fudge brownie, almond shortbread cookie dough, Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut chocolates drizzled with honey, and coconut mudpie come together in a creamy and velvety finish with the perfect amount of honey to offset the chocolate malts. This beer is a fun one and is literally liquid dessert in a glass.

Oily and viscous brownish-black with nary a head to speak of.
Extremely sweet, but also toasty of roasted nuts and waffle cookies, it becomes too sharply acrid in too short of order.
Though featuring a soft crispness, the thick body finishes sticky.

poured from 500mL bottle into a perennial snifter. pours oily black with a thin layer of dark brown foam that quickly fades away. the nose is very muted. i really don’t get any one adjunct or hardly anything at all. it doesn’t smell bad but i get a little honey sweetness and maybe some nutty cookie aromas. taste is much more flavorful with chocolate, honey, light hazelnut in the taste. thick, full mouthfeel. lower level of carbonation. not bad but a lot going here. some of the flavors get lost amongst themselves.
