We are excited for you to try Barrel Aged Pistachio Dream Dessert for the first time. Following 25 months in Weller and Taconic bourbon barrels, we blended the viscous bases together and gave it the delightful dream dessert adjunct treatment of pistachios, pecans, coconut, marshmallow and Madagascar vanilla.
Barrel Aged Pistachio Dream Dessert pours densely with aromas of brownie batter, creamy pistachio pudding and boozy vanilla. We get flavors of bourbon soaked chocolate covered pistachios, marshmallow fluff, coconut caramel cream pie and condensed chocolate milk. With a weighted mouthfeel, a touch of bourbon char and silky finish, Pistachio Dream Dessert is dreamy indeed!

I love pistachios, but I have yet to find a really good pistachio stout. So I'm giving this one a try...
Look - Pours a dark black color with a very small dark brown head that disappears very quickly after pouring. Leaves a nice lacing around the glass when swirled.
Smell - The pistachios come through rather well in the smell, along with a hint of bourbon aging, though it smells a bit on the dry side.
Taste - Bourbon, pistachios, and chocolate, with just a light hint of coconut and vanilla. The taste is fairly mellow (not too strong).
Feel - Flat, but very nicely creamy which is good without much carbonation. The bottle doesn't show the ABV. However, both Tavour (where I purchased it) and Untappd say it's 17%, while the non-barrel aged version is 11%, which is what Beeradvocate shows this as. This is amazingly subdued for 17% ABV!
Overall - This is well above average for a pistachio stout, but I still haven't found one that's really 'wowed' me.

poured from a 500mL bottle into a TG DBA tumbler. pours thick, jet back with not even a finger of dark brown foam that quickly fades to a thin collar around the glass. lots of chocolate/cocoa on the nose to me on this one. not a ton of barrel on the nose or in the taste. a little on the finish as it comes to room temperature but that’s honestly about my only complaint with this one. all the adjunct flavors are balanced and okay off each other so well. it literally mimics ice cream or some kind of adult milkshake. thick mouthfeel like a milkshake too. delicious.
