Not sure about the batch #, but I'm assuming batch 4 as I bought this recently. Poured at fridge temp. Pours an insanely thick and pitch black. Zero head. Looks completely still. The nose is nice. Not as sweet as some of their offerings. Definitely getting chocolate, almonds, marshmallow, vanilla, and a bit of maple. No barrel showing up on the nose.
The taste is very good. Again, nicely balanced and not too sweet at all. Actually getting a solid amount of roasted malts on the taste, which is pleasant. Also getting nice complimentary notes of dark chocolate, marshmallow, almonds, vanilla, brown sugar, maple, biscuits, and a hint of ginger. Pie crust, lactose, and a bit of bourbon are also there.
The mouthfeel is incredible, which is in part clearly due to the lactose. Thick, oily, and creamy. The aftertaste is chocolate and almonds. Great beer overall.
