We brewed their HDHC Double Citra Daydream with OH’s High Density Hop Charge process using a big base of wheats and oats with multiple types of Citra in both the whirlpool and dry hop. Double Citra Daydream is up there with some of our biggest dry-hopped beers, and to meet Daydream criteria, we finished things off with a touch of lactose.

HDHC Double Citra Daydream pours an opaque and vivid yellow and has very strong aromas of alphonso mango and assorted tropical fruit. The flavor is explosive, with notes of mango juice, pulpy OJ, pineapple nectar, deeeeeeeep papaya, lime gummy candy, dank green grass, and a big pop of rainbow melon. This beer is chewy with Other Half’s aggressive hoppy character that’s balanced with our #EQjuice, making a daydream out of each sip.

Kirchwerder 9/5 2024. 47,3 cl can from Best of Beers webshop. Pink can with Dream-like purple clouds.

Pours unclear golden yellow with a mod-sized white head. Stable. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the side of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet odor of ripe Stone fruit mingling with subtle citrus fruit. Peach and apricot. Clementine and grapefruit.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, creamy, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a hard edge of alcohol. Lingering. Finish is rather dry.

Potent daydream. Could wake you up!

Pours a hazy pineapple color with a fluffy white head that provides ropes of lacing and a nice cap on the beer as you enjoy it. Beautiful NEDIPA. Th nose is rife with HUUUUGE tropical citrus notes, including ripe mango, pineapple, papaya, and tangerine aromas most mouthwateringly prominent.

The taste stringently follows the taste, with the mango, pineapple, and tangerine flavors fitting my beer nerd palate especially well, and a nice creamy, slightly sweet oat flavor finishing a scarily drinkable 8.5%ABV beer, complemented perfectly by the full, soft mouthfeel.

Given the breweries that collaborated on this beer, it’s no surprise that it’s a world class entry (IMHO) into a crowded hazy field. Outstanding stuff if you enjoy hazies, again IMHO.
