Doppler starts off with a modified water profile, a blend of Bohemian Pils, Bohemian Dark, Caramunich, and Carafa malts, a Czech style yeast strain, and a light addition of Saaz hops for a touch of bittering.
Dark in color with outstanding light drinkability, Doppler has subtle flavors of light caramel, roasty malt, sarsaparilla, toasted bread crust, and mild chocolate in a crisp, bitter, and balanced finish.

16 (maybe 20?) oz seidel glass draft pour at Frisco Taphouse in Gambrills, MD. Pours a clear light brown color with a creamy head. Aroma and flavor feature toasted caramel malt with a hint of pumpernickel, light noble hops (spice, grass, herbal), and light bitterness. Very drinkable and a solid representation of the style.

Poured a brown body with decent head and minimal lace. Decent aroma of dark malts. Odd beer as it has a medium body and taste that reminded me of cherry-flavored robitussin. Not bad but it just has this off-setting effect.

No can date. Tasty, well balanced dark lager with good mouthfeel; a subdued malty/roasty/slightly javaish flavor and a clean but dryish, quick-fading aftertaste. Very quaffable.

Poured into a glass tankard. Nice dark body but not jet black. Moderate head length and good carbonation. Great nose. Complex. Roasty. Earthy. Taste follows suit. Nice balance of sweet and bitter. Medium mouthfeel, perhaps a bit more than expected from a lager. Very solid dark Czech overall.

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, silky thin beige head. Light roasty, nutty aroma, dark chocolate. Malty, woody, nutty, with a nice roasty vibe. Smooth, chocolaty. Absolutely delicious.

Solid clear brown. Toasty and light roasty/coffee-ish aroma and flavor. Nice balance with a light touch of grain. Light bodied with a light dry roasty finish.

16oz tallboy can received via Beer Drop. No freshness date.
Very dark brown, virtually black in the glass. Takes on a dark, rubyish hue when held up to direct light. Creamy looking khaki colored head.
Coffeeish, malty aroma. There's also a bit of mineral scent that suggests hard water.
Flavor is a little richer than the nose. There's notes of cocoa and pumpernickel bread.
Light bodied, with a clean, crisp mouth feel.
Not as good as Whistle Punk's, IMHO, but still a nice Czech Dark Lager. I'd definitely hit it again.
