This Imperial Red Ale known as Robot is artificially intelligent, but naturally delicious with sweet caramel flavors, medium body and a floral hop finish. 16oz can served in a hotel tumbler. Bought it at Hi-Lo Liquor about an hour ago. Don't see a date on the can. Label seems to be suggesting Kraftwerk - Man Machine as an audio track accompaniment, so let me queue that up as I start to review this...
Pours dark reddish-amber with a small head, doesn't look very active, but a thick ring sustains itself pretty well and there's a cute, demure dusting across the surface. Smell made me smile and go "Mmmmm" -- seems to have the characteristics I want in a IRA. Caramel, toffee, nuts, pine, grapefruit, maybe a bit of berry.
Taste is lovely. I did that thing where I lean back, raise both my arms, and moan "ohhhhh" appreciatively. [Man Machine begins playing]. Berry might be slightly stronger, toffee is much stronger. Grapefruit and pine bitterness, caramel and toffee sweetness. I'm so pleased with this beer I'm having trouble thinking of words.
Mouthfeel is big and thick, dry texture. This is an excellent beer. I wish I had bought more than one. Wow.

Handsome dark color, more red than coppery, with fine-grained foam in the Chimay chalice. Taste of black currants, for some reason. Roasted malt, moderate sweetness, and a grainy dark finish. Aside from too much of everything, this is the standard Red Ale amped up.
A powerful brew with a taste of alcohol and a whiff of musty basements. On the harsh side, overall, but at least not the murky gunk. All clean and straightforward. Seriously bitter aftertaste, so pay your dues. From the 16 oz can purchased at Brew House in Capistrano.
