Yet another Japanese beer from the LIF box from Snaotheus. I had a NEIPA from Devil Craft already in this box and found it to be quite odd but still enjoyable. A higher abv example feels like it won’t translate well, but I have it so I might as well give it a shot. Let’s dive in
Pours a hazy yellow gold with a finger of white head that fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is a bit subtle but ultimately still enjoyable. I’m picking up on aromas of mango skin, papaya, doughy malt, peach rings, orange juice, and weed
Things unfortunately take a sweeter turn in taste, but I can’t say I hate it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting overripe cantaloupe, bready malt, honey, mango skin, orange juice, light weed, and papaya. The swallow brings notes of underripe cantaloupe, bubblegum, bready malt, orange juice, weed, light caramel, and pineapple juice
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a creany beer. Finishes neutral with a decent balance
This one is just all around average. I feel like I should dislike it more but it’s an honest attempt at the style

330ml bottle served in a little dimpled mug. The only English-recognizable date on it is 2023-12, which I guess is a best by date. Label looks like it was printed on a home printer. "Small batch brewed - hand bottled"
Pours a hazy whitish orange, worrisomely little head, not much carbonation. Smell is lightly boozy, earthy pine bitterness, overripe mango or some mélange of tropical fruit.
Taste is stronger on the booze and really leans into the overripe tropical fruit mélange, a particular flavor stands out but I can't identify it specifically (papaya or passionfruit come to mind). Not much bitterness, really juicy. No, on second thought, there is a lot of bitterness, but it's up front and then kind of washed out by juiciness, though it's lurking in the background throughout.
Mouthfeel is thick, chewy, slightly on the still side. Overall, pretty good -- imperfect, but tasty and worthwhile.
