The ever generous Snaotheus has sent me a wonderful LIF box filled with beers with from his trip to Japan as well as some from around him. The concept of a Japanese craft brewery brewing a NEIPA sounds interesting to me, so let’s dive in
Pours a hazy pale gold with a finger of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
It smells oddly sweet, almost like honey interestingly enough. I’m picking up on aromas of sweet honey, orange marmalade, bready malt, floral hops, cantaloupe, light lemon zest, and mango skin
It gets a bit weirder in taste, but also just a bit bland. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange juice, sweet honey, bready malt, lemon zest, floral hops, light mango skin, and white pepper. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, doughy malt, mango skin, lemon zest, floral hops, light white pepper, and white grape
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes mostly dry with a a firm bitterness
This one is pretty damn weird, but I think I can see what they were going for

330ml bottle served in a snulip. Bought it at the brewery Thursday their time. Date is 2024-03, which I think is the best by date. "Small batch brewed - hand bottled"
Pours a hazy pale orange with a little head that mostly disappears pretty quickly, very light dusting exists, a very thin ring as well. Smell is bright tropical fruit juice, pineapple and mango.
Taste is lots of citrus rind, lots of ripe tropical fruit, strong fruit juice vibe but not too sweet, nice moderate pine bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium to light, slight chalkiness. Overall, pretty nice beer.
