i think these guys do belgian stuff well, but its not the saisons that stand out to me, and i like them better in isolation than i do when i have several of them back to back at the brewery, they all get a little samey, i think because they all use the same yeast and ferment it quite warm, they seem more belgian than rustic, too clean and one dimensional in that way and just not all that interesting, so switching up a few grain proportions or hop bills isnt really enough to make new beer, although i get that their pace of evolution is real fast right now on the hoppy side and these types of things almost assuredly have to be a secondary focus at this point. they say this is blaugies yeast, but it tastes the same as their others to me, maybe fermented too warm to be its full self, to me its just short of phenolic but pretty intense over a pils type base, crackery and with some body interestingly enough. noble hops add some spice which works with the yeast and this is pleasant and drinkable beer, better than some of their others in this style, but its still not the type of saison that turns me on, and nowhere near as good as their hoppy stuff in my opinion...
