Thanks, Nick!

Was lucky enough to get this beer and a bunch of others from Nick on a recent work trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Untappd description had it brewed with Jasmine rice and lime leaves. Tasting notes of lime, crisp and light spice.

Poured a straw-to-pale yellow clear color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass. Almost perfect foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled lime, lemon zest, rice, pear, sourdough bread, black pepper and hints of salt. Not quite as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order got lime, lemon zest, pear, rice, sourdough bread, banana, apple, green grape, black pepper and hints of salt. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Clean, crisp finish. (Feel - 4.25)

This was outstanding overall. Would have again for sure. (Overall - 4.25)

An absolutely delightful beer. The lime leaf adds just a bit of citrus zest, primarily to the aroma, but is very restrained on the palate. The highlight is the near-perfect balance and incredible drinkability. A lovely light lager.

A- Pours from the tallboy into a becher glass with a clear pale yellow body and a white crown. The head has a thick and pillowy, creamy consistency with good retention at about a finger high.

S- Much of the aroma is light grains which give cracker, cereal and grainy notes alongside lager yeast. A tiny bit of herbal lime leaves in the backdrop. A bit bread/doughy as well.

T- Most certainly getting more lime leaves in the flavor and if you have tasted them before you know the signature herbal, lime and floral flavor; lightly perfumy but not in a bad way. The threads of grain and yeast carry over from the nose with cracker, cereal, dough, lager funk and light lemon coming to mind.

MF- Soft and very smooth body that is both creamy and frothy. The carbonation is moderately high. Light bitterness and a semi-dry finish.

A pretty standard Japanese lager aroma with nice grain and yeast with a flavor that has some fairly strong lime leaf notes. A nice brew but the lime leaf feels a bit unchecked by the base beer at times and it gets a little bit too herbal on the palate.

Poured from an undated 16 oz can into the test glass
A - Excellent clarity, gentle carbonation yeilds a very nice white froth. Very light straw color.
S - Light grainy nose, with a thin citrus thread, a pleasant batard quality.
T - A hint of citrus, covers fresh cracker, a ricy grain element, the Jasmine rice was a nice choice.
M - Lite on the palate, crisp, while being a little soft on the water profile. Finish is a long off ramp.
O - A very nice lager, with enough depth to keep it interesting

Pale, straw yellow body; very lively carbonation; thick, sparsely soapy, white head; some rings and patchy globs of foam adhere to the glass. Mild cracker-like aroma blending with an herbal smell. Light, malty flavor; earthy sweetness; low-key hop bitterness; finishes with a biscuit-like flavor. Light body; mildly sweet mouthfeel; finishes with a touch of dryness.

For a rice lager, this one isn't bad. It comes across fairly lightweight overall yet has just enough delicate flavor and mouthfeel to suit the style.

16 fl oz pull-tab can:

"Brewed with Jasmine rice and lime leaves." 5.0% ABV.

The lime leaves are subtle, giving it a nice mellow lime flavour that isn't artificial, sticky, or overpowering. Clean 2-row/rice adjunct gives this its clean crisp malt backbone.
