Clear pale amber brew with average foam in the St. Bernardus globe. Inviting aroma of grilled corn with alfalfa and a bit of spice in the nose. Mild grainy taste but it mellows as you sip. I wouldn't say this hints at anything like Mexican Lagers, but it's certainly better than those. Overall, this is an excellent light Lager with persistent aromatics. From the 16 oz can purchased at Baron Market on West Point Loma. Dated 09/11/24.

Spent way too much on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Was excited to see a Mexican Lager from Burgeon. Untappd description read “Mexican Lager brewed with light Pilsner malt, Vienna & Flaked Corn. Crisp, zippy and slightly floral hop presence.” NOTE: I always struggle with Mexican Lagers, whether to call it an American Lager, American Adjunct Lager, American Light Lager or a Vienna Lager. I might add my own style for it.

Poured a darker straw clear color two fingers of frothy-to-fizzy off-white head. Lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up from the bottom and long the sides of the glass. Excellent watery, foamy lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled a lot like an American Adjunct Lager, only craft. The corn jumped out on the nose first, followed by grain, earthy pilsner malt, honey, grass, floral and some peppery spice. Even better (and smoother) out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted even better from the can. This is really good. Got pear, red apple, corn, grain, earthy pilsner malt, light peppery spice, grass, floral and herbal. (Taste - 4.50)

Medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Clean, crisp finish. (Feel - 4.50)

For what this was, it was excellent. If this was an American Adjunct Lager it would have been a higher rating. (Overall - 4.25)
