somehow still waiting for mexican lager to be a category here on BA, which is what this is, corn based, uniquely hoppy, very well lagered, crisp and clean, and there is no need at all for the lime they put on the rim when they pour it at the brewery, its plenty flavorful without that. super blonde, lighter than yellow, fizzy and very clear in the glass but not much head sticking around, still looks real well refined. very little corn sweetness in the nose, i can usually place it quickly in there but its more subtle here because this is dry the whole way, some cereal character, minerality, and crispness, the yeast is also quite light. that leaves the hops to pop in the nose, not noble to me, somewhat unique, herbal and maybe a lemon note, super clean overall. well balanced flavor with just a bit more grain than i could smell but light in malt flavor and also in body. the hops make this unique, a delicate citrus thing and just a little bitterness, fills in for the yeast not being as flavorful as it often is in there, but this feels nice and coldly fermented, snappy and refreshing and quenching. i do taste a little more from the corn as it sits a few minutes. nice beer, good with oily or greasy food, good attention to detail, very well made and just interesting enough to not be generic. this place is great!
