Assertively tart with a dry and slightly earthy finish. Complex aromas from the yeast compliment the fruit, giving this beer an almost red wine-like character.

From can dated 3/4/22. Opened 4/2/22. Purple/red color with thin head. At first a bit hazy, but cleared up after a few minutes. Smells very good. Taste exactly as advertised - a sour blackberry with wheat flavor. Over carbonated feel.

Had Blackbeary Hug poured from 12-oz. can, bottom incorrectly stamped "CANNED ON 09/07/21" and "FRESH PRESSED," into Teku tulip.
Pours deep ruby red with clarity and 1-finger light pink head, which soon dissipates to nothing, leaving no lace. Aroma of blackberries, fruit skins and tartness off pour, with berry aroma and tartness continuing, and eventually joined by some farmhouse yeast spiciness beneath the fruit. Begins very tart, which continues through cracker malt and solid berry flavor, but not into a desperately dry false finish, which eventually reveals some farmhouse yeast character and a memory of fruit juice.
A very interesting sour fruited farmhouse ale, which may leave you wanting more of one style or another.
