Another Dose is an Imperial Stout weighing in at 12.0% ABV with Chocolate, Coffee, Hazelnuts, and Vanilla Added. This is essentially the same thing as the first batch of “Proper Dose” as it was adjuncted the exact same way and has the same grain bill. The only real differences are the label, name, and that it was boiled an extra few hours to try to make it even thicker and as a result it is slightly less ABV as the original with a higher original gravity and final gravity.

650 mL bottle. No head. Black. Smells of chocolate and hazelnuts mostly. Tastes of sharp coffee, hazelnuts, and a fudgy aftertaste. Coffee is bitter and a little acidic, but the beer is quite sweet. Heavy, not outrageously sweet. It's decent.

Used motor oil black with a thick tan collar dying down to a thin ring.

The creamy medium body glides down into a silky feel with only a hint of that sharp acridness I often get in Horus's "Aged" ales. Otherwise it's largely a showcase of delectable hazelnut pastry with a sort of chocolate vanilla swirl and a very mild touch of toasty roast.

I've come to the realization that just about the only Horus beers I enjoy are their hazelnut features, which isn't exactly a glowing recommendation of a brewery.

This one pours a dark black color with a small head and a little bit of lacing.

This adjunct menu is basically every Horus beer, but it certainly smells really nice, with sweet hazelnut and vanilla creamer dumped into coffee being the impression on the nose.

This is definitely a little bit sweet, but it’s certainly tasty. The hazelnut is probably the strongest of all the ingredients, with caramel/dark fruit/chocolate/coffee/vanilla and general sweetness.

This is creamy, medium bodied, and not very boozy at all.

Horus knows that this beer is not treading unique ground at all, given the name. Despite that, it’s still a nice pastry stout, if not a little obvious.
