This is the best Horus I’ve had. Pours medium black opaque with a beige head that settles into a cap. The blend of barrels is rich, refined. yet has a hint of the rugged. Getting tones of molasses, toffee, chocolate, toast, vanillins, mild char and fig. Smell is more focused on the barrels, less sweet, more boozy, but not as complex. Feel smooth and driven by the barrels, great warmth, great wood, and booze. A magnificent sipper that isn't taxing at all

poured from a yellow-waxed 22oz bomber into a snifter. dark brown pour but nearer to black in the glass. tiniest bit of dark brown foam. dark chocolate, bourbon, oak, caramel and molasses on the nose. taste follows with less of the sweeter components of the nose and more bourbon but it’s well balanced and tasty for sure. fairly smooth. thick mouthfeel bordering on medium-full but giving the edge here as it remains fairly thick even when warming up to room temp as opposed to thinning out like some imperial stouts tend to do. my experience with horus is quite limited and i remember mostly additives on top of additives on top of additives. nice to know they don’t always do that. nor do they need to do it as thick works well.
