Midnight black stout pour with brown ring. Smells of rye, semi-sweet chocolate, molasses, slight berries, vanilla and char with a kiss of orange peel. Taste is much the same, more barrel and rye up front, sweeter notes on the back. Feel is very smooth, big barrel with rye dryness atop surprisingly cool malt waves. Refined and full.

Appearance: Pours a shade of brown just lighter than pitch black; no head but quite leggy
Smell: Rich chocolate and caramel tones with the Rye whiskey barrel embracing; hints of cinnamon and pecan
Taste: Dark chocolate and caramel forward with the spicy Sazerac Rye barrels making a strong impression; hints of cinnamon and pecan and complexity; somewhat boozy finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied and very creamy with no carbonation; warmth in the gullet
Overall: Horus has pulled some very interesting flavors out of this non-adjunct impy stout; I am a fan of Rye barrels so this was right up my alley
