On tap at Barrel & Stave/Jaxons in Fullerton, CA.
Pour is a beautiful golden to amber in color. Looks like honey in a glass. Slight off-white head asserts about an inch in height before dropping down to a thin scattered, almost creamy head. Decent head retention with scattered lithe lacing.
This is old school, 15 years ago, double IPA. Nose brings hints of pine resin, a little bit of orange rind, with a solid malt backbone.
Flavor is a little more varied than the nose. Definitely have the orange rind and pine resin. But there’s a little hint of a tropical note as well along the lines of mango, grass, and a little of melon. The malt base presents like an overall wet grain with a hint of rye.
Mouth feel, again kind of old school, has a little bit of heft with low carbonation and a smooth, bitter finish.

Pint pour into an eco-friendly plastic beer cup. Slightly hazy golden amber with a cap of frothy white foam and evident carbonation. Grainy malt aroma with some light citrus, orange and lemon. Lean malt taste with emerging sweetness, citrus and dank resinous notes. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A straightforward West Coast IPA with good hop and malt notes, but a little rough around its edges.
