Pours a nice dark brown color, a bit hazy looking. White head. The nose almost has a smoke aroma to it. Some wild aromas. The taste starts off as sweet, a hint of smoke, nice malt. Slight hop on the backside.
Feel is fairly full bodied.
Delicious overall.

this is a dark saison that tastes like it was one of their first batches and has been sitting around awhile, like they made too much and its no longer fresh. not quite up to the quality of their other beers i dont think, but its not awful by any means either. it looks like a brown ale in the glass, mostly clear chocolate colored with a good head on it. aroma smells of slightly oxidized malts, cocoa, maybe light rye, and a slightly astringent winey saison strain that smells tired to me. the flavor is like that too, just a little past its moment, but the elements are all there. the grain base is cool, and while im not sure if there is rye in it or not, there is a real spice element that the yeast picks up on, and a cool earthy complexion because there isnt much sweetness here at all, thats the best part. the yeast seems forced to me, white wine notes and fall spices, this is a very autumnal beer, but the esters overpower the base a little bit, and the balance isnt quite there. i bet this was a lot better when it was first made, and thus should improve with future batches as they get busier. as it stands in this instance, its my least favorite beer i have had from these guys so far.

Listed as a Dark Saison, it pours slight hazed cola color with a thin tan head and lingering lacing. Smell is mild fruit and spice with slight citrus. Taste is weak nut much funk , with mild yeast and and mild dark malts, hints of spice and pepper.Mouth feel was thin with a dry finish. This Saison needs some work a little more spice and funk.
