Was lucky enough to get this one and a bunch of other good stuff from Sam. I’m a huge fan of BlackStack, so was looking forward to this one. The Untappd description was “If you've ever worked in the service industry, you likely understand that to "Eighty-Six" something means that you're out of a menu item or someone is getting kicked out. Ixnayed, if you will. In this case, it's just a series of beers that lets us say goodbye to a particular type of hop varietal/product from a given contract year, in this instance, the end of our 2021 Mosaic Cryo hop pellets, while we continue to train in with one of our favorite new Experimental Hops: HBC 586.” Those are two of my favorite hops.

Poured a bright light golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head. Could see a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spotty lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled Mosaic, HBC 586, floral, rose blossom, mixed berry, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, mango, Juicy Fruit gum and apricot. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.50)

Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose but still excellent. Got Mosaic, floral, rose blossom, mixed berry, tangerine, pineapple, red grapefruit, HBC 586, mango, Juicy Fruit gum, apricot, passion fruit and guava. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)

Another banger from BlackStack. Hard to argue there are any other better breweries for haze from me. Legit. (Overall - 4.50)

Appearance: Pours a mostly hazy (20% clarity) medium to light yellow color with a strong white head. SRM of 5-6. (3.75)

Aroma: Strong aromas of lemon and grapefruit citrus, zesty pineapple, some dank herbal notes. Some sweet melon underneath. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong and juicy flavors of lemon and grapefruit citrus, zesty pineapple, traces of herbal notes with hints of lime. more grapefruit and lemon citrus to finish. Leans juicy, mildly sweet. (4.00)

Feel: Medium-bodied, lighter than expected, strong carbonation, somewhat, almost incredibly, clean. (4.50)

Compared to Drekker Tickle Monster 1/7/2023: Pours darker, clearer, stronger aromas. More juicy grapefruit and lemon citrus. Less berries and oats. Jucier and hoppier with more fruity flavors.

Overall: A big one from BlackStack here. Nicely juicy and more citrus than I would expect from the Mosaic here. Particularly the lemon, grapefruit, and lime citrus flavors. A bit herbal from the HBC586, but only on the aroma. Nice and juicy hop flavors. Drinks incredibly dry and drinkable. Don't think I could peg this one as a Mosaic beer. Sort of surprised by the flavors, but definitely drinks well and clean. (Rating: 4.09)

 

Pineapple and mango.

Pours a light hazy straw yellow color with a 1 finger hits head . Smell is fruity dank and tropical. Taste has citrus ,papaya,melon and herbal garden notes . Mouth feel sweet more so than dry . Tasty for the style .
