After a bustling day, I decided to unwind with a unique light lager, Lehi Light. Served at a refreshing 42 degrees in a pint glass, the pour revealed a frothy three-finger white head with distinctively poor retention—the quick dissipation left behind a delicate lacing on the glass. The color, charting at SRM 2 as a pale yellow and clear to brilliant, with a few carbonation bubbles gracefully floating to the top, is a lovely sight.
The sensory journey of Lehi Light begins with a dominant cooked cabbage aroma that piques the senses. Swirling the glass several times, I uncover notes of creamed corn, toasted crackers, floral blossoms, and green apples, each adding a layer to the olfactory experience. However, the presence of an 'off-flavor ', in this case, a slightly sour and unpleasant aroma, detracts from the overall aroma of the beer.
While unique, Lehi Light's flavor journey also pays homage to the typical flavors of a Light lager. While less intense than the aromas, the cooked veggie flavor allows the style flavor of boiled corn, malty sweetness, floral ester, and herbal and doughy malts. These flavors, typical for a Light lager, are a testament to the beer's adherence to its style despite the off flavor.
The mouthfeel is light carbonate, finishing clean. The body is light and has high carbonation.
Regrettably, the off-flavor in the beer significantly detracted from the overall experience for me. It was a struggle to finish the beer, and I found myself unable to return to it for another try.

they call this a brut lager, which is a new term to me think, and its one of the lightest beers i can recall every drinking, especially from a craft brewer, looks almost like a coors liked mixed with water in the glass, about half that yellow, barely any color at all here, fully transparent, almost hard to even visually identify as beer, despite it having a short fizzy white head on top and some visible carbonation. it smells like almost nothing, but i do get some faint lager yeast to this, at least confirming it is a fermented beverage. to its credit, i get nothing cheap, metallic, or chemical, which a lot of these types do show, so i suppose i am okay with the minimalist nature of this. the flavor is also really mild, for me to a fault, i want a little more from any beer, even a light one, early in the day, on a hangover, anytime, i need something more than this, even just a bit, its essentially invisible, hits the palate for a quick second with a pale barley splash and is gone even before its all the way swallowed. it is bubbly and active on the tongue, and quite dry, maybe this is the brut part, it certainly isnt anything to do with the fermentation profile, which seems to be a quick and basic lagering. i should add that while this is really really light, its also not bad, i just wanted something more from it in terms of taste and body and character, its hardly beer at all, but it is clean and refreshing and objectively fine. totally overwhelmed by their fried pickle chips though. not sure i could get drunk off of these, even with great effort...
