Thanks, Jay!
Was lucky enough to get this and a bunch of other good stuff from a college friend. Had enjoyed the previous Resident Culture beers and I was expecting the same here. Back of the can read, “West Coast IPA double dry hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial and Cascade.” Nice.
Poured a medium yellow-to-gold clear color with three fingers of frothy white head, which thinned out quickly. Could see a bunch of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Average watery lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled body odor, chewy caramel, bitter pine, black pepper, onion, orange rind, lime, citrus peel and herbal. For mentioned hops, Simcoe for sure, light Amarillo and even lesser Centennial. A little different out of the can with some berry notes coming in. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted just as good as the nose. In order got chewy caramel, black pepper, Simcoe, bitter pine, onion, body odor, orange rind, Amarillo, citrus peel, lime, dry Centennial, herbal, menthol and some Cascade. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Just an outstanding West Coast IPA. (Overall - 4.00)

Spatial Occasion from Resident Culture Brewing. Received from @nc41 in BIF 12. Received 10/8/20. Reviewed 10/24/20.
Undated 16 oz can. Stored at home at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 58 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale straw (SRM 2), clear
Body – Pale straw (SRM 2), slight haze. When held to direct light, translucent with center effervescence noted.
Head – Large (Maximum six cm, aggressive center pour), white, low density and frothy, average retention, diminishing to a three to six mm undulating crown with a thin partial cap. Second pour produces a tight 1.5 cm head.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3 – Initially none - no malt, no hops, no yeast. However, as it warms to 56 degrees, an aroma not dissimilar to noble hops appears.
Flavor – 3 - Slightly bitter and a bit dank and resiny. No malt, no yeast. No alcohol (7 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. .
Palate – 4 – Thin, watery, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 (Minus 0.25 point for undated can). Might just be old – final taste is resiny – definite simcoe hop territory.
