Thanks, Jay!

Was lucky enough to get this and a bunch of other good stuff from a college friend. Really liked the two Resident Culture beers I had so far so went with another one here. The website description for this one calls it, “Hazy Pale Ale. Hopped with Galaxy, Mosaic, and Strata. Light and fluffy, lots of dank tropical fruit, goes down easy.”

Poured a semi-hazy medium yellow color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky white head. Not really any bubbles coming up from what I could see. Very good uneven lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled Mosaic right away. Also grapefruit, Strata, mixed berry, maybe strawberry, floral, rose blossom, passion fruit, dank pine, peach, apricot and Galaxy. Not as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted pretty much as good as the nose. A little maltier than I expected at times. Big Mosaic and Strata, followed by Galaxy. Also grapefruit, strawberry, floral, rose blossom, passion fruit, peach, apricot, dank pine and lingering spice on the lips. (Taste - 4.00)

Light-to-medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Was back and forth on a few of these categories, but this was excellent overall for a hazy pale ale. (Overall - 4.25)

A: Pours a very hazy/murky pale yellow in color with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate straw yellow + lemon yellow + very pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to large patch of slightly mottled very thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/mango, tropical/passionfruit, citrus/grapefruit, strawberry, and citrus/orange hops over the top of light aromas of biscuit + grainy + oat malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light flavors of biscuit + grainy + oat malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy tropical/mango, tropical/passionfruit, citrus/grapefruit, strawberry, and citrus/orange hops which impart a very light amount of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving lingering tropical + citrus hop flavors.

M: Slightly heavier than light bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront with a light amount of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol with a refreshing + pleasantly soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable with a really nice combination of hop flavors and aromas. I could easily have a couple of these.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a pale yellow color and a very cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Fantastic lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of hops, citrus fruit, vanilla, and malt.

T: Tasted of a decent amount of citrus fruit (orange, to be specific), a tinge of malt (mostly in the finish; not a big factor), a fair amount of hops (not overdone, though), and a good shot of vanilla as well. This is a light, lively and easy to drink flavor. It doesn't overpower your palate, but rather has a well-balanced and focused quality to it. Pretty tasty.

F: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A super solid, easy to like APA. Worth a try.
